The idea that turned a hobby into a profession
Between rain showers and cool box chaos: the path to the perfect camping vehicle
I've always loved being outdoors and travelling.
Since 2006, I have been travelling the world in my self-built vehicles, exploring the world and pursuing a wide variety of sports.
In everyday camping life, I've realised that it's often the many little things in everyday camping life that can put a strain on your patience:
- When the bed linen has to be taken out of the car to set up the bed - and it's raining cats and dogs
- When you want a coffee first thing in the morning - but the bed has to be dismantled for it
- If you just need something from the cool box for a quick snack - and the worktop has to be cleared first
- If you can't sleep at night - because the old mattress on the wooden slab isn't so comfortable after all...
As an engineer working in large-scale production, I know how much fun it is when everything runs smoothly and solutions are well thought out from start to finish. With this motivation, I have sometimes rebuilt our own vehicles up to 15 times until I was satisfied.
From the idea to the solution: flexible, well thought-out camping furniture
After countless nights, rainy days and challenges in the camper, I realised that I needed furniture that makes everyday life easier, where every movement is well thought out and that fits perfectly into the limited space. A camper is not just a vehicle, but a small home - and comfort and functionality should go hand in hand.
With this vision, I began to develop my own camping furniture that is flexible, robust and, above all, well thought-out. Whether folding beds that can be transformed into a cosy place to sleep in no time at all, worktops that cleverly integrate storage space or kitchen systems where every move is perfect - my furniture is the result of years of experience and countless test phases.
It was important to me that the furniture is modular and can be installed in a wide variety of vehicle types. From compact vans to large camper vans: the furniture adapts to the vehicle, not the other way round. This means: no conversion of the entire vehicle, but practical solutions that are also ideal for spontaneous weekend trips or long journeys.
Our concept: a new approach to camper conversion
Conventional camper conversions are often expensive, heavy and durable. The VANFITTERY concept offers a flexible alternative: our modular camping solutions fit into various vehicle types. For example, there are modules for high-roof vans - whether VW Caddy or Fiat Doblo. Instead of a fixed extension, you receive prefabricated modules that are fitted with a custom-fit Fitting be matched exactly to your vehicle.
Similar to IKEA, you can flexibly put together your setup from sleeping, kitchen and storage modules. The highlight: the modules are simply attached with tensioning straps - Without screws, without drilling. This allows you to convert your vehicle into a campervan in just a few minutes and convert it back again just as quickly. Perfect for anyone who uses their van in everyday life and wants to set off on an adventure at the weekend.
Thanks to consistent lightweight construction, your vehicle remains efficient and manoeuvrable. You can configure your modules individually in our shop and realise your DIY project together with our accessories - for maximum freedom in your camper conversion.
